6 Ways to Give Great Customer Service

Your customers are the most important part of your business. After all, you wouldn’t have one without them. In today’s competitive market, giving great customer service is key to winning more work and keeping those customers for life.

We all know that customer service is key, but how do you go about making sure that you deliver fantastic service to everyone that engages your company? There are 6 things you can do to show your customers that you care about delivering great customer service.

1. Your service levels are your top priority

Always focus your efforts on providing top levels of service. If you pride yourself on being the best at what you do and offering great deals on your products, customers will be more likely to stay with you as well as recommend you to their friends and family.

2. Know who your customer is

Think about what your customers want. If you’re a solar company, your customers are probably interested in reducing their carbon footprint as well as earning money from the government’s Feed-in Tariff. If you’re a plumber, a lot of your customers might want someone they can rely on in an emergency. Do some research on what your customers are like and what they want and tailor your business to them.

3. Listen to your customers

4. Be flexible

Be ready to change the way your business operates. For example, the solar companies that have prospered in light of the Feed-in Tariff cuts are the ones that changed their businesses to offer solar battery systems, boilers and other renewable energy solutions. They realised that more of their customers are going to be focused on energy saving and carbon emission reduction rather than earning from the Feed-in Tariff.

5. Explain why you do things in your sales pitch

Don’t expect your prospects to know exactly why you do things the way you do – they’re looking to you to give them advice and tell them why your way of doing things is better than other companies.

6. Give the customer the best experience

Always strive to give your customers the best experience you possibly can. Little things go a long way with customers, and it can be the difference between you getting a 3-star review and a 5-star. Think about how you would like to be treated as a customer and do everything you can to provide that experience.

It’s easy to give great customer service when you think about what your customers really want and how you can help them have the best experience. Try these tips and tell us how it goes!
